Learn techniques and practical strategies for effective communications through presentations and hands-on PR activities. Topics covered will include media relations and public presentations. A guest speaker from the media will also be on hand to give attendees the newsroom perspective. (Click here to view a sample agenda from a previous workshop.)

Each attendee will receive a PR Toolkit reference guide to help bring the tools from the communications classroom to the civil engineering profession. Part ‘how to’ manual and part resource guide, this Toolkit provides a practical reference on public relations for civil engineers.

The workshop will take place Monday, December 7, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at ASCE Headquarters in Reston, Va. Space is limited, so please submit your application early.

Scholarships: ASCE offers a limited number of scholarships covering tuition and travel (following ASCE’s standard reimbursement policy) to participants who represent an ASCE Section, Branch or Institute. The deadline for applications is COB Wednesday, November 11.
