World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO)
ASCE is a strong supporter of WFEO directly through the American Association of Engineering Societies (AAES). In 2004, numerous engineering societies attended the World Engineers’ convention in Shanghai, China. A commitment was made by attending organizations to adhere to the Shanghai Declaration of Engineering and Sustainable Future, which encourages engineering organizations support the initiatives undertaken by WFEO.
ASCE is involved in WFEO and its Committee for Technology Transfer and Sharing (ComTech). In addition, ASCE is involved in the WFEO Committee on Capacity Building. Through AAES, ASCE is working with the United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) on the “Engineering for a Better World” initiative.

The WFEO Executive Committee will meet in Chicago, Illinois in conjunction with the 2006 ASCE Annual Conference.
