The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to be the representatives to the PanAmerican Union of Engineering Organizations (UPADI). The purpose of this joint activity is to further the interests of U.S. engineers and establish stronger ties within the western hemisphere. UPADI is comprised of five regions, including North America, South America, Southern South America, Central America and the Caribbean. Twenty-six member countries are represented in this organization.
