Salute Engineering's Bright Young Stars --
Nominate a 'New Face' for 2009 Award

New Faces of EngineeringDo you work with or otherwise know a civil engineer who's 30 or under, yet is already making a name for himself or herself? Does that engineer show the potential for greatness and a long career in the profession? Nominate him or her for the 2009 New Faces of Civil Engineering Award.

The New Faces of Engineering strives to promote the accomplishments of young engineers by highlighting their engineering contributions and their resulting impact on society. The campaign is designed to promote engineering by:

  • Honoring and showcasing a group of young, diverse and talented engineers, who are in an exciting profession open to everyone;
  • Providing both stimulation and incentive for college engineering students to explore the variety of career options their engineering degrees make available to them, as well as encouraging high school students to study engineering in college;
  • Helping engineering students to understand that they are part of a global profession.

Nominations will be welcome through September 29. The award, coordinated through the National Engineers Week Foundation, is open to young engineers from many disciplines. Nominees are not required to be ASCE members. Winners will be recognized in a full-page ad in USA Today during Engineers Week, February 15-21, 2009, and with other professional recognition, including feature profiles in engineering trade publications.
