International Attendees - Invitation Letter Request Instructions:

  • After sending the requested information to Megan McQuaire, your invitation letter will be prepared and sent by e-mail to the e-mail address you provided. The letter is typically sent electronically within one week.

  • Letters may be faxed if requested.  Please provid Megan McQuaire with a fax number and indicate that you would like the letter faxed in addition to the e-mailed copy.

  • Letters cannot be sent to the Embassy or U.S. Consulate.  ASCE cannot intervene on behalf of an invitee with the Embassy or U.S. Consulate via fax, phone, surface mail, or e-mail.

If you are unable to obtain a Visa, cancellations must be received in writing at ASCE Headquarters by Wednesday, May 1, 2009, to receive a refund of registration fees. A $50 Processing fee will be deducted from all refunds. We recommend you apply for your Visa at least 30 days prior to your conference travel dates.

Electricity

The electricity used in the United States is standard electricity, which is 110 volts. Please bring the appropriate adapters and transformers for any appliances or computers that you bring to the Conference, as these are not readily available in the United States for adaptation FROM overseas appliances.


Grants

We regret that ASCE is not able to award any other grants or fee waivers to attend the conference besides the Visiting International Fellowship mentioned above. However, grants are sometimes available for qualified applicants through the following organizations. Please contact them directly to ascertain if they will be able to assist you:
