Glenn Bell picture

SEI is very excited to welcome Glenn R. Bell, P.E., CEO of Simpson Gumpertz & Heger Inc., as the plenary speaker for the 2007 Structures Congress in Long Beach, May 16-19, 2007.

Mr. Bell will be presenting on “Engineering-Driven Architecture.” In his talk, Mr. Bell will address author Tony Robbin’s 1996 thesis that we are on the eve of a new era in architecture that will be driven by elegant structural engineering, advanced materials, and creative geometry (Engineering a New Architecture, 1996).  Mr. Bell will reshape Robbin’s thesis and argue it from the perspective of an engineer with an interest in structures, building envelopes, mechanical systems and construction methods.  We hope you will join us for what promises to be a fascinating presentation.
