GREAT FOOD
St. Louis' restaurants range from intimate trattorias on The Hill, St. Louis' Italian neighborhood, to time–tested gourmet establishments. At the 1904 World's Fair, St. Louis invented treats like the ice cream cone and iced tea, and popularized hamburgers and hot dogs. Today, you'll get to try quirky only–in–St. Louis specialties: toasted ravioli, gooey butter cake, and "concretes," milkshakes so thick they're served upside down!
ST. LOUIS BLUES
Hear the St. Louis Blues nightly in compelling after-hours spots at Laclede's Landing, steps away from America's Center on the Mississippi River; Soulard, St. Louis' oldest neighborhood, five minutes south of the Arch; and Washington Avenue, the reborn loft and entertainment district. Spend time enjoying live theatre, touring Broadway productions, symphony performances, or cabaret and jazz in the Grand Center arts and entertainment district, or hop aboard one of five riverboat casinos.

ST. LOUIS CARDINALS
And just in time for our Congress, you may have the opportunity to watch the St. Louis Cardinals in their new privately–financed field of dreams, projected to open for the 2006 season. The $380 million project will create a new venue for the team and redevelop five surrounding blocks on the south end of downtown into a mixed–use area called Ballpark Village. From inside the ballpark, you'll get a spectacular view of Downtown St. Louis and the Gateway Arch.
