                 PRE-CONFERENCE EVENTS

*Important Note:

Please be advised that on Sunday, August 16, the America's Finest City Half Marathon will take place.  If you are travelling on August 16, please allow extra time, as there will be periods during the day where the roads leading to and from the Sheraton will be closed.  The bulk of the runners are expected to pass by the hotel between 7:45 - 9:30am, blocking off access.  An off-duty police officer will allow card and pedestrians to access the Sheraton when possible.  This will affect the hotel's airport shuttles and taxi services.  Arrive early so you do not miss your workshop.

Pipeline Installation MOP

8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Inspecting Pipeline Installation describes successful construction methods and procedures for installing the common types of pipes used to transport water-like fluids.  The manual focuses on the needs of field personnel, constructors, and inspectors, so it assumes the pipeline design is complete, decisions on alternatives are resolved, and the designer’s concepts are now ready for conversion into a real project.

This manual has two main purposes: first, it provides an educational tool for readers with limited field experience and second, it consolidates practical pipeline installation information into one volume.

Many recommendations are made about pipeline earthwork. This is followed by descriptions of the proper installation practices for ten different types of common pipes,  including:  steel, corrugated steel, ductile iron,  pre-stressed  concrete,  reinforced concrete, bar-wrapped concrete, vitrified  clay,  PVC,  high density polyethylene,  and fiberglass reinforced pipes.
