Guests Breakfast and San Diego Orientation

9:00 – 10:00 a.m.

Your guests and family members will enjoy breakfast while they plan their San Diego “Must Do” list.  The hotel concierge will point out such attractions as Balboa Park, a city park established in 1868 and home to the world famous San Diego Zoo; and Old Town, the first European settlement in California known for its glorious year round gardens, Mexican dishes and Mariachi music.  No visit to San Diego is complete without a visit to the Gaslamp Quarter, a thriving commercial area with restaurants and night clubs.  For the shopper, visit Horton Plaza, the focal point in the Gaslamp Quarter, which houses trendy shops, restaurants and a movie theater.  There is also Seaport Village, a 14-acre shopping and dining complex designed to emulate early California-style architecture, Fashion Valley Mall, an upscale, open-air mall and Mission Valley Mall, which is divided into an East and West because of its massive size.

For the children, there is Sea World Park, Knott’s City Soak, The Children’s Museum, The Model Railroad Museum, The Old Globe Theater, Marie Hitchcock Puppet Theater and Legoland.

For those who want to just kick back and relax, there is plenty to do at the Sheraton.  The hotel offers bike rentals, 3 swimming pools, 3 lighted tennis courts, sailing, a jogging track, a volleyball court, boat rentals, a ping pong table and a Spa & Fitness Center.

Special Event

USS MidwayConference Dinner aboard the U.S.S. Midway on San Diego Bay

6:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.

The Midway is the longest-serving aircraft carrier in U.S. Navy history.  Its active service included a 47-year odyssey that spanned the end of WWII to the liberation of Kuwait in 1991. Located in downtown San Diego at Navy Pier, the Midway provides a dynamic and enriching experience “from boiler to bridge”.  Besides the ship itself, the Midway Museum contains numerous restored airplanes, jets and helicopters, as well as flight simulators, a gift shop and other exhibits. You will see an array of meticulously restored aircraft and helicopters both in Midway's hangar bay and on the flight deck. Scale the ladder of the T-2 Buckeye and imagine what it would be like to be catapulted off of the carrier going from 0 to 150 miles an hour in just three short seconds.

Enjoy a sit-down dinner, tours and entertainment.  This promises to be a one-of-a-kind experience.

Dress Code

Comfortable clothing and shoes with non-skid soles (no spike heels) are strongly recommended.  Women are advised to wear slacks.

You must register for this event.  It is not included in registration.

Cost of ticket: $50
