Tour of Boston
9:30am – 3:30pm
A special outing has been arranged for your guests and family members to make the International Pipelines Conference 2007 an event that the entire family can enjoy. This outing will consist of a special narrated trolley bus tour stopping at many of the historic areas in Boston, MA. Visits will include the Old North Church, where Paul Revere received the signal to ride to Concord; Boston Common, the oldest public park area in the country dating back to 1634; Faneuil Hall, the “Cradle of Liberty”, where Samuel Adams and fellow revolutionary colonists gathered to protest “taxation without representation”; and Old Ironsides, the oldest naval ship in the world, commissioned in 1797 and nicknamed in the War of 1812 in a sea battle versus the HMS Guerrier.
The tour will stop at world-famous Filenes Basement, where bargains is the word of the day. Next the tour will stop at the North End, home of Boston’s Italian Community, where lunch will be provided at Dolce Vita Ristorante.
Since no trip to Boston is complete without a visit to the bar where “everyone knows your name”, we will visit Cheers, home of Sam Malone, NORM! Peterson and Cliff Claven. Special discounts have been arranged for your purchases.
Order of the Engineer Ceremony
5:00pm – 5:30pm
The Order of the Engineer was initiated in the United States to foster a spirit of pride and responsibility in the engineering profession, to bridge the gap between training and experience and to present to the public a visible symbol identifying the engineer. Participants take the Oath of Obligation of the Engineer and wear a steel ring as a reminder of their commitment to high ethics and professionalism.
Icebreaker Reception
5:30pm – 7:30pm
The reception is a terrific time to meet and mingle with colleagues from around the world and to browse the exhibit floor. Introduce yourself to our exhibitors, who will be delighted to show you the latest products and services for the pipeline industry.

Awards Luncheon / Bechtel Award Lecture
11:30am – 1:30pm
At our special seated mid-day luncheon, we will honor several industry leaders, who will receive the 2007 Award of Excellence and the 2007 Stephen D. Bechtel Pipeline Engineering Award. The Student Paper Contest winner will also be announced and a scholarship will be awarded.
Linda Greenlaw, bestselling author of books about life as a commercial fisherman, will speak at the luncheon. She will sign copies of her latest book, a murder mystery called Slip Knot.
Social Event at the New England Aquarium
7:00 – 11:00pm
Travel through the world of water just by stepping inside the Aquarium and experiencing more than 70 exhibits featuring aquatic animal from around the world. Dine alongside thousands of tropical fish, moray eels, giant sea turtles, sharks and three different species of penguins. The four-story 200,000 gallon Giant Ocean Tank at the New England Aquarium creates a fascinating centerpiece that will long be remembered. Stroll through bi-level ever-changing exhibit gallery that features unusual and exotic creatures and habitats from around the world. Then enjoy a New England style clambake against the backdrop of the Boston Harbor, while watching ships pass in the cool summer breeze.
