Important Points Regarding Registration

Please note the following important points regarding registration:

  1. You will receive your conference badge, conference proceedings, and a package for all previously registered participants at the IIT Madras conference venue.
  2. Direction for the conference venue will be posted within the campus for your convenience.
  3. For those who have not registered, on-line registration will end on December 8, 2009. After that registration will be on-site in Chennai at IIT Madras. See details on the conference web site.
  4. From December 9, 2009 until January 7, 2010, the on-site registration will be only at IIT Madras, Chennai, India. Please note that the registration fee will be accepted in CASH in Indian rupees only.

For international attendees, please note that the most of the business accept international credit cards. However, some business may accept transaction in cash only. Please insure that you have sufficient funds in Indian rupees for your transactions. Please note that one US dollar is exchanged between 44 to 48 Indian rupees. For exact currency conversion rate, please check with currency exchange centers.

Badges

To receive a badge, you must register. Your name badge is your admission to the technical sessions, Exhibit Hall, social activities, and tours. Pre-registered participants are to pick up their badges upon checking in at the Onsite Registration Counter at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras.

Badge Sharing Not Allowed

Please take note that registration is per individual and is not exchangeable between colleagues.

Cancellation Policy

India 2010 Conference Management must receive your cancellation request in writing or via email. A refund, minus $50 USD (Rs. 2,000 Indian rupees) processing fee, will be issued, if the cancellation request is received by November 26, 2009*. Please send cancellation request to registrations@asce.org or fax to 703-295-6371. No refunds will be made for cancellations received after November 26, 2009.

Confirmation of Registration

Confirmations are e-mailed to all who provide valid e-mail addresses. If you do not receive confirmation within three weeks, please contact the appropriate individual based on the way you registered for the conference:

Payment Information

Payments must be made at time of registration. Registration will not be processed without the full payment. Please ensure that you have sufficient funds in Indian rupees for your transactions

Onsite Registration Payment Requirements:

  • Only payments in Indian Rupees (IDR) will be accepted onsite.
 
  • Payments must be made in cash. Other currencies will NOT be accepted.
  • Payments by check, wire transfer and Purchase Order (P.O.) will NOT be accepted after December 8, 2009 or onsite.

Converting Currencies to Indian Rupees:

  • You may exchange money at the airport.
  • IITM Campus bank has a foreign exchange facility that can be used to convert currency. You will be able to do foreign currency exchange at this bank.

Scholarships/Travel Funds

Scholarship and/or travel funds are NOT available for conference participants. All attendees are required to pay conference registration fees and expenses related to travel.

 

Tours

Tours of Chennai and other locations in India must be arranged and paid for by the participants independent of the conference registration fee. Click here to view Information regarding tour options.

 

Tour companies have registration miminums and reserve the right to cancel a tour based on insufficient number of tour registrants. Please check the website regularly for updates!

 

Important Registration Information for Authors

All authors of accepted abstracts are required to register (with payment) and upload a final paper before the extended deadline of November 26, 2009 in order to be included in the technical program and proceedings. As the deadline has been extended, NO LATE REGISTRATIONS OR FINAL PAPER UPLOADS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

After the submission/registration deadline, the Steering Committee will review all papers uploaded by registered authors and assign them to either an Oral or Technical Poster Session.

Authors whose abstracts are accepted for oral presentations or technical posters and who submit a final paper are expected to attend the India 2010 conference, pay the appropriate registration fees and make their presentation(s) in person.

Expenses related to preparing and presenting the papers, including camera-ready manuscripts and illustrations, are the responsibility of the authors and coauthors.
