Transportation

The city is easily accessible from all directions. Interstate 80 and US Highway

50 run east/west; interstate 5 and US Highway 99 run north/south.

 

Airport

Sacramento International Airport (SMF) is served by all major airlines with direct flights from Europe offered by several. Nonstop service from Sacramento to the east coast has been added by several carriers. Seven new carriers have been added since 9-11, including Hawaiian, aloha, Mexicana, Frontier, JetBlue, ExpressJet and Air Canada. Taxis

On-demand taxi service is provided by the Sacramento International Taxi Owners Association (Sitoa) by contract. You can locate a taxi in the ground transportation area adjacent to the baggage claim area at terminal A and across from the airport hotel at terminal B. the rates are $2.80 for the first mile, $2.40 for each additional mile; one-way between the airport and downtown is approximately $27.00 round-trip between Sacramento international airport and downtown Sacramento is $50.00.
