Thank you for your participation in the 7th International Symposium on Field Measurements in Geomechanics. There are a few items that we would like you to take notice of in the preparation of your final paper submissions:
- Permission from facility owner: The instructions have a section titled permissions that deals with copyright issues. However, please make certain that you have obtained permission(s) to present from the responsible owning authority of the featured project. We have had situations in the past where people have not been able to present because the owner objects after they find out at a later date.
- Commercialization: Commercialization in the form of touting a firm, company or product is unacceptable and will not be allowed in the final version of the papers.
- Draft papers are due by March 26, 2007.
Thank You,
Jerry DiMaggio & Peter Osborn
Technical Program Co-Chairs

The timetable for submission and review process is as follows:
- Draft papers due - March 26, 2007
- Reviews to authors - April 23, 2007- Review & comments sent to authors
- Final papers and author paper deposit due - May 31, 2007 - Authors revise papers, prepare responses to reviewers, and prepare final manuscripts by this date.
Paper Format Information:
Length. Papers should be 12 pages, including all text, graphics, and appendices.
Point size and font. Use 12 point type for text, captions, and author contact information. For type within figures or tables, the 12 point size is preferred. We recommend selecting a serif text font such as Times Roman. Italics, bold, and bold italics may be used; we recommend sticking to one “family” of typefaces. Arial types of font tend to convert improperly.

Questions or Problems:
General Information:
Proposing authors must recognize that submission of an abstract indicates commitments to complete the paper, attend the conference, and present the paper, and asserts that permission to present the paper has been obtained from the responsible owning authority of the featured project.
The Committee will accept or reject proposed papers based on information provided online in the abstracts. To the extent possible and appropriate, papers will be assigned to conference technical sessions based on the topic and sub-topic identified by the author and co-authors, as best suited for their subject material.
Expenses:
All expenses associated with the preparation, submission, and presentation of abstracts and papers are the responsibility of the authors and co-authors. This includes camera-ready manuscripts and illustrations. Scholarship and/or travel funds are not available for conference attendees. All attendees are required to pay conference registration fees.
