Albuquerque has near perfect weather conditions, with an average of more than 300 sunny days a year. The climate is arid and mild. Visitors usually experience sunny, dry, and low humidity days. The city is set in a beautiful geographic location in the Chihuahuan Desert. The landscape composed of the Sandia Manzano Mountains, lie east of Albuquerque, and the West Mesa overlooks the Rio Grande, which straddles the city.

Albuquerque offers many outdoor activities: golf, biking, skiing. In addition, the city is also known as the Ballooning Capital of the World, and Albuquerque host hundreds during the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta in the fall.
