During your free time in Long Beach, there are many great sites to see. One of the largest world-class attractions, the Queen Mary, was the fastest, most luxurious ocean liner of her time, entertains passengers in fine restaurants and on historical tours. The Aquarium of the Pacific features over 12,000 inhabitants of the Pacific Ocean, undersea galleries and live shows. The Renaissance Long Beach Hotel provides the ideal launching point for exploring this flourishing city by the sea. Long Beach is home to several unique museums, including The Long Beach Museum of Art and the Museum of Latin American Art. The Long Beach Museum of Art, including its turn-of-the-century mansion with a spacious lawn and patio, is perched atop a bluff with a view of the Pacific Ocean. The Museum of Latin American Art, in the East Village Arts District, features cutting-edge art. You can head for the docks and enjoy a gondola canal tour, a whale and dolphin watching expedition and/or a Catalina cruise. Long Beach is home to two Spanish land grant ranchos that are open to the public. Rancho Las Alamitos and Rancho Los Cerritos both feature authentic adobe houses built in the 1800s. Both ranchos feature lavish gardens and historical outbuildings and displays. Year-round, Long Beach offers sunny skies and a moderate climate.
