COPRI 2011

General Information

ADA Compliance

The Marriott Memphis Downtown Hotel is barrier-free in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). While ASCE/COPRI will make every effort to meet the needs of the physically challenged, accommodations cannot be guaranteed without prior notification.

Badge Policy and Ribbons

Your name badge is your admission to the conference. Please wear your badge at all times while in the hotel. ASCE recommends you remove your badge when leaving the hotel. Where tickets are required, please bring them with you as you will not be admitted without one. Ribbons will be available at the Registration desk.

Cancellations

Please do not mail registration forms through the U.S. Postal Service AFTER October 6, 2010 in order to ensure your registration is processed by the October 13 deadline. After this date, registrations must be secured with a credit card. If you are paying by credit card, please register online via the link on the Conference Web site or download the PDF registration form and submit it onsite along with your full credit card payment.

Cancellation must be received in writing at ASCE headquarters by October 13, to receive a refund of the registration fee. A $65 processing fee will be deducted from all refunds. Additional event tickets will be fully refunded if cancelled in writing by October 13. There are no refunds after October 13. Fax cancellation requests to: ATTN: Customer Service at (703) 295-6144; or e-mail them to registrations@asce.org; or mail to ASCE, Attn: Customer Service, 1801 Alexander Bell Drive, Reston, VA 20191-4400, USA. NO REFUNDS will be granted for cancellations received after October 13.

Committee Meetings

Requests for committee meetings should be submitted by October 13 to Tom Chase at tchase@asce.org.

Conference Attire

The dress code for the Congress and for the Gala at Graceland is business casual (i.e. slacks, casual dresses). Meeting room temperatures will vary, so wear layered clothing to ensure your personal comfort. We also recommend attendees wear comfortable shoes.

No Smoking Policy

ASCE supports a “No Smoking” policy. Smoking is prohibited in the Memphis Marriott Hotel and all venues hosting ASCE events.

Parking

On-site self-parking is $18.00 per day; valet is $20 per day. Off-site parking at the lot adjacent to the Memphis-Cook Convention Center is $5.00 per day. The address is 255 Main Street, Memphis 38403.

Post-Conference Evaluations

An electronic evaluation will be sent out to all attendees immediately following the Congress.

Professional Development Hours (PDH)

You may earn up to 14.5 PDHs, which are nationally recognized units of record, by attending conference technical sessions. Please note that there are differences from state to state in continuing education requirements from professional engineering licensure. Each state licensing board has the final authority to approve courses, credits, PDHs and other methods of earning credits in that state. ASCE does not keep record of credits earned and strongly recommends that individuals keep record of credits earned. Submit your credits to the licensing board and regularly check for specific continuing education requirements in the jurisdictions that affect professional engineering licensure and the ability to renew licensure.

Recording Policy

Video or audio recording of any education session is strictly prohibited without prior written permission from both ASCE and the session presenter(s).
