An Invitation to Attend
I would like to invite you to the 14th Conference on Cold Regions Engineering. This international conference begins with meetings of the Technical Committee on Cold Regions Engineering (TCCRE) on Saturday, August 29, and conference registration opens on Sunday at noon. The theme for the conference is Cold Regions Impacts on Research-Design-Construction.
The conference consists of a variety of paper presentations, tours, and social events. We have made every effort to provide you with options to attend technical sessions that will interest you and expand your knowledge of cold regions technology. General topics to be covered include:
Roads
Pipelines
Environment
Frost Action
Infrastructure
Railroads
Airports
Construction
Structures
Technical sessions begin on Monday after the Plenary Session, then continue on Tuesday morning and Wednesday morning. Tuesday afternoon’s schedule includes a variety of tours, including the landmark Aerial Lift Bridge and the Skyline Parkway, which overlooks the entire city.
Duluth also has a variety of other attractions for your enjoyment, including a fresh-water aquarium adjacent to the convention facility, tours of Glensheen (the historic Congdon Estate), and scenic harbor cruises.
