Turtle Bay Hotel, venue for the meeting, is located on a peninsula of rock
in the North Shore District of Oahu. Known for some of the worlds largest
waves in the winter and crystal clear waters year-round, the North Shore
is a haven for surfers, beach lovers, and scuba divers. It also is home to
coastal communities vulnerable to tsunami inundation, coastal erosion,
sea-level rise, and high wave overtopping.
