Join us in celebrating leaders who have made significant contributions to the profession and their communities.  The keynote address entitled “Leadership in the World's Third Oldest Profession” will be presented by George J. Pierson, P.E., J.D., M.ASCE, President and CEO for Parsons Brinckerhoff.  Society Awards, some of which include the President's Medal, Edmund Friedman Professional Recognition Award, and Walter LeFevre Award will be presented.  Winners of the Government Civil Engineer of the Year Award and Young Government Civil Engineer of the Year Award will also be recognized.

Old Montreal City Tour

Along the way, the tour includes a stop at the summit of Mt. Royal for a panoramic view of Montreal and a guided visit of Notre-Dame Basilica, an outstanding example of neo-gothic architecture. Then you're off to the Olympic Park, the Botanical Garden and the unique Biod´me. We will drive through St-Helen's and Notre-Dame Islands, sites of Expo 67', and the Montreal Casino.

ASCE Annual Business Meeting*

Celebrate the achievements of Society and your fellow members at this year's ASCE Annual Business Meeting.  ASCE Executive Director Patrick J. Natale, P.E., F.ASCE kicks the meeting off with a report on the State of the Society, followed by the induction ceremony for the 2013 Board of Direction.  The ceremony will culminate with the inaugural address of ASCE 2013 President Greg DiLoreto, P.E., P.L.S., F.ASCE.

Progressive Dinner in Old Montreal

A Progressive Dinner is an opportunity to experience more than one restaurant while discovering the rich architecture and historical legacy of Old Montreal. You will be moving from one restaurant to the other accompanied by a professional guide and will stop at three different restaurants for the entrée, the main course and the dessert. This special event allows you to network with the participants and meet new acquaintances.

Order of the Engineer

7:30 - 8:15 a.m.

You are invited to participate in the Order of the Engineer Ceremony. Over 4,400 engineers have participated in ASCE led Ring Ceremonies since the summer of 2003. Participants will take the Obligation of the Engineer and receive a certificate and stainless steel ring. Any engineer is eligible for induction if he or she has graduated from an ABET-accredited engineering program or holds a license as a Professional Engineer in the United States. Students enrolled in ABET-accredited engineering degree programs are eligible if they are within two academic terms of graduation.

Registration Fee: Induction $15; No fee to observe the ceremony

Flavours and Aromas of Old Montreal

9:00 a.m.- 12:30 p.m.

This walking tour will allow you to discover the delicious cultural and historic culinary charms of the oldest district of Montreal.  Specialty shops and boutiques in the area are housed in old factories and showrooms from the 19th century. As you follow the narrow and winding streets of Old Montreal, your professional tour guide will feed your hunger for knowledge on the history of Montreal and its many culinary pleasures. You will learn how the native people have influenced Canadian food habits and how the world fair Expo 67 brought exotic food on our tables. That and much more.
