Disney – Innovation in Action

Experience the stories behind the Magic by participating in the “Innovation in Action” behind-the-scenes tour, presented by The Disney Institute. This tour highlights Walt Disney’s many accomplishments and takes you on an unforgettable journey where you can see, firsthand, how they make “magic."
During this tour, you will learn about Walt Disney’s career and visit various locations for an up-close look at innovation. Some of these locations will include Textile Services featuring one of the largest state-of-the-art laundry facilities in the world; Main Street U.S.A.® where you can discover how Walt Disney’s life and career influenced this turn-of-the-century location; Main Street featuring the “Utilidor” System-Journey beneath the Magic Kingdom® Park to visit support systems located in the “tunnel”; and finally Disney’s Central Shops where you can go backstage to the place where they create everything from parade floats to Audi-Animatronics® figures. The tour lasts approximately three hours. Minimum of 20 people. Must be 16 years of age and a valid ID.

Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex

The Kennedy Space Center Tour takes you to the International Space Station Center (ISS) where you get an up-close glimpse inside the actual facility where NASA is preparing the real components of the ISS; LC 39 Observation Gantry which provides a 360°-view of the two giant Shuttle Launch Pads, the Launch Control Center and the massive Vehicle Assembly Building; and then to the Apollo/Saturn V Center which features a tribute to the Apollo Astronauts and the machines that got them to the moon and back. Lunch will be provided. The charter bus ride will be approximately one hour with snacks, beverages, and a movie. The entire tour will last three hours. Guests must be at least 12 years old.

Spend the afternoon on a trip to downtown Orlando to see the Interstate 4 at SR 408 Interchange Project. This is a $120 million joint-project is being completed by the Florida Department of Transportation and the Orlando Orange County Expressway Authority. The project will have 19 months completed, with less than a year to go on November 3. This major interchange project is in the heart of downtown Orlando. You will see how tight the constraints are to build this major project. The tour price will include a hardhat. Please wear closed-toe shoes and bring eye protection (eyeglasses, sunglasses, safety glasses). There are only 45 spots available, so sign up soon.
