Design of Modern Glazing Systems

The conference will start on March 30 with a new and unique workshop on the Design of Modern Glazing Systems, with particular emphasis on earthquake and blast, given by three leading experts in the field: Dr. Mohammed Ettouney, Ph.D., P.E., F.AEI (Principal, Weidlinger Associates, Inc., and former President of AEI), Dr. Ali Memari, Ph.D., P.E. (Professor, Architectural Engineering Dept., Pennsylvania State University, and Chair of the AEI Curtain Walls Committee), and Stephen L. Fisher, SE. (Bagatelos Architectural Glass Systems, Inc.). This workshop will cover curtain wall design (industrial standards, weatherproofing, structure, thermal, movement, fire, acoustic, sustainability, durability), curtain wall types, special design considerations (sunshades, security and blast, sloped glazing, challenging geometry), testing and specialized glazing.
