Presentation: Recladding for Longevity
Technological advances in curtain wall design and installation are not solely the province of new construction. Replacing the curtain wall on existing buildings to take advantage of these developments can provide longevity where their energy performance, spatial arrangement, or marketability have made them functionally obsolescent. The feasibility of such recladding, along with the operational and constructional challenges, are illustrated via case studies by speakers representing the perspectives of designer and fabricator/installer.
