Welcome to the CI Student Day - New York 2009
Civil Engineering... It's More than you think
On September 2009 in NY CI will offer engineering students and faculty a unique real-world engineering experience that will bring classroom lessons to life. During an interactive day on an active construction site in New York City, you'll be guided by leaders from Kiewit through the construction life cycle of the Willis Avenue Bridge Reconstruction Project - the most expensive bridge construction project in NY DOT history. From technical presentation to sight tour to networking with the project stake-holders, you'll learn from experts the risks, challenges, and rewards on a $612 Million project like this.
ASCE’s Construction Institute (CI) has developed a program specially designed to introduce Civil Engineering students to the wide variety of professional opportunities after graduation and let you experience some of those first-hand. CI works closely with ASCE local sections and industry leaders in your area to bring students a program rich with interactive presentations on technical advancements in the field, we provide you with job search "intel" as you network throughout the program with Corporate sponsors and recruiters, and we expect you to get your feet dirty on an active project site.
