PAPER FORMATING INSTRUCTIONS

The Organizing Committee have reviewed the abstracts. Upon acceptance of abstracts, authors are required to submit their paper according to the GSP formatting guidelines. Click here to access the formatting guidelines that can also be used as a template for creation of your paper.

Final papers must not exceed eight (8) pages in length.   All papers will undergo peer review per G-I/ASCE publications policies and accepted papers will be published in a Geotechnical Special Publication (EI-indexed).

The conference proceedings (in the form of a GSP) will be available to registrants and the community at large through ASCE publications.

ASCE/AEI membership is encouraged, but not required for submission.

 

PAPER DEPOSIT FEE

Authors whose papers are accepted should submit a final paper along with a paper deposit fee of $150 that will be credited towards the conference registration.  The authors of the accepted papers are expected to register for the conference at the appropriate fee(s), attend the conference and make their presentations in person.  All paper deposit fees are nonrefundable and nontransferable and do not guarantee the author a copy of the proceedings.  Authors must attend the conference to receive a copy of the proceedings.

SHORT COURSE PROPOSALS

Short Course proposals must include:

  1. course title and outline;
  2. course length (up to six hours);
  3. course objectives;
  4. names and qualifications of instructors; and
  5. summary of handouts.

The deadline for submissions is August 11, 2010 at the Mira website at http://submissions.miracd.com/asce/GeoRisk2011.

Expenses related to preparing and presenting the papers, including camera-ready manuscripts and illustrations, are the responsibility of the authors and co-authors.

CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT

PDH credits may be earned at this conference by attending short courses and sessions. Approved continuing education credits are required in many states for the renewal of professional registrations.

PROCEEDINGS

Proceedings of the conference papers will be produced. Papers are limited to a total of eight (8) pages of text and illustrations. ASCE policy does not allow the publication of abstracts only. Authors of accepted presentations are encouraged to submit a full paper.

All Conference papers will be published on CD and distributed to full Conference registrants as part of their registration fee.
