Preston Haskell is chairman of The Haskell Company, one of the nation’s largest integrated design-build firms, headquartered in Jacksonville. The company’s projects span a broad range of construction types including office buildings, data processing centers, institutional buildings, hospitals and medical facilities, continuing care retirement centers, manufacturing plants, distribution centers, shopping centers, and Jacksonville's own NFL stadium. The firm is a frequent recipient of industry awards from the AIA, DBIA, ABC and others.
Mr. Haskell graduated with honors from Princeton University with a degree in civil engineering, received a Master of Business Administration with distinction from Harvard University, and attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology for graduate study in Building Engineering and Construction.
Preston Haskell is active in civic and industry leadership at the national, state and local level. He was founding chairman of the Design-Build Institute of America and served on its board of directors for six years. He has served as a director of the Civil Engineering Research Foundation and is currently a director of the Civil Engineering Forum for Innovation. He recently completed two terms as a trustee of Princeton.
Mr. Haskell is a widely recognized advocate of the design-build delivery system, having long been instrumental in promoting its use among both private sector clients and public agencies. He is a frequent speaker on design-build delivery in the U. S. and abroad, and his articles are widely published in industry publications. He is also a noted collector of contemporary abstract art and an trustee of several fine arts institutions.
