On May 16 and 17, 2007, the ASCE Metropolitan Section Geotechnical Group and the
Geo-Institute will sponsor this exciting two day seminar in the heart of New York City. The seminar topics will feature various presentations by experts and practitioners on different areas of geo-hazards broadly categorized into Seismic / Extreme Events, Slope Stability, Construction, Natural Hazards, Artificial / Man-made Hazards and Legal Aspects. Keynote presentations will also be featured.
The seminar will benefit engineers, contractors, owners’ representatives and geotechnical equipment manufacturers/suppliers involved in various geotechnical related projects.
Professional Development Hours will be applied for; it is anticipated that the two-day seminar will be approved for about 13 PDHs.
A reception will be held on the first night, breakfast and lunch will be provided on the second day, with coffee breaks included on each day. Proceedings presenting papers of each of the lectures, will be included in the registration fee.
As part of the program, an exhibition area will be set up to showcase the latest in geotechnical services, construction, equipment, monitoring and analysis tools. Corporate services can be showcased as one page advertisement in the proceedings.
