Moustafa A. Gouda, P.E., D.GE, F.ASCE

MOUSTAFA A. GOUDA, PE, D.GE, F.ASCE, is a Fellow and Life Member of ASCE. He is a Diplomate of the Academy of the Geo-professional. Moustafa is a Senior Vice President and Principle of CMX, a national firm with head quarters in Manalapan, New Jersey. Moustafa is a Licensed Professional Engineer in Twelve States.

Moustafa has amassed more than 45 years of professional experience, 29 years involvement with ASCE local sections and branches and 19 years of services on the ASCE Board of Direction and Board of Direction Committees. He is currently a Governor of the Geo-Institute, Chair of the Engineer Joint Contract Document Committee EJCDC and member of the Society Strategic Planning Committee SPC. He is also the liaison of SPC with the finance and the Program committees..

Moustafa served as President of the Philadelphia and New Jersey Sections and the Central Jersey Branch. He also served on District 1 and 4 District Councils for many years. His services on the Board of Direction include, three years as District 1 Director, two years as Society Treasurer and two years as member of the Executive Committee. Moustafa served as Chair of several Board Committees and Subcommittees, these include: Membership Benefits, Programs, Investment, Audit and the Finances committees. Moustafa did serve in the recent past on several Board Committees Membership, International Activities and Policy Review Committees.

For his service to engineering, Moustafa was named the 1987 Philadelphia Civil Engineer of the Year, the 1996 Central Jersey Outstanding Engineer, and the 1999 South Jersey Distinguished Engineer. In 2006, he received a life time achievement award from the Delaware Valley Engineering Council for services to the engineering communities. Moustafa services in South Jersey earned him special honor by the US Congress. The US Congress declared May 16, 1999 as Moustafa A. Gouda Day in the NJ first congressional district.

Moustafa is widely recognized for his outstanding contribution to the civil engineering profession in general, and in the field of geotechnical and geo-environmental engineering in particular. In addition to his professional work, Mr. Gouda has also served as an adjunct professor at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, Rowan University, and Associate Professor at Mercer County College.
